Matt Slocum is a musician, songwriter, and producer best known as the drummer, guitarist, and co-founder of the American Christian pop-rock band, Sixpence None the Richer. The band was formed in 1992 and released their self-titled debut album in 1994. However, they gained international fame with the release of their hit single "Kiss Me" in 1998.
Matt Slocum is the primary songwriter for Sixpence None the Richer and has written many of the band's most popular songs, including "Kiss Me," "There She Goes," and "Don't Dream It's Over." He also played various instruments in addition to drums and guitar on the band's albums.
Aside from his work with Sixpence None the Richer, Matt Slocum has also produced and written songs for other musicians, including Cindy Morgan, Jars of Clay, and Leigh Nash.
Slocum left Sixpence None the Richer in 2004 to pursue a solo music career, but the band reunited in 2007 and has continued to perform and record music.
